After suffering its first defeat of the year, a 6-4 loss to the West Georgia Wolverines back on Aug. 29, the Houston County Sharks rebounded to earn a pair of wins this past weekend.

The group beat the DeKalb Silver Streaks 8-0 and 12-4, both games at DeKalb.

Summed Sharks Assistant Coach Ryan Brown: “Ja-que Billingsley (Northside High), Braxton Robinson (Northside Middle), Jeff Sweeney (Warner Robins High) and Faith Bieker (Warner Robins) each took a turn in goal. Faith led the Shark goalies with five blocks.

“The Shark offense was unstoppable scoring.”

Scorers, Brown said, were: Billingsley with five goals, Sweeney with three, Robinson, Bieker, Kierra Miles (Bonaire Middle), Jordan Kozloski (Feagin Mill Middle) and Gracie Web (Matt Arthur Elementary) with two and Ben Masters (Houston County High), David Presley (Warner Robins High) and Kelley Jordan (Houston County High) with one each.

The Sharks will be hosting their last home game for the handball season this Saturday at noon in the Bonaire Middle School gym.

“Please come out and support the Sharks when they play the Atlanta Wolfpack,” said Brown.
