The Seed Survivor Mobile is a plant nutrient classroom on wheels with five interactive stations.
Russell elementary principal Jo Hall said, "It is a great way to teach the students the need and the importance of agriculture by using interactive computers, group lessons and demos of the soil."
Third grade teacher, Dora Waite, had her classroom divided into two groups.
While one group was inside the mobile using the multi media and virtual reality video games on soil, sunlight, water, nutrients and growth the other group was outside learning about plant nutrients.
At the end of the presentation and learning that plants need nutrients to survive each student was given two sunflower seeds to plant to take home and grow.
Third grade student Ashley Cruz said, "I liked learning about plants and how plants get their nutrients. I liked all the plant things they talked about."
