The Warner Robins High School Band Director describes it as "a day of half-times", because it will be twelve hours of performances of marching band half-time shows. They call it "The Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational" and is open to all music lovers.
Warner Robins High's Drum Major, Allison Kurtz, says the community should check it out to see what marching band is all about.
Band Director Todd Howell explained what theatrics this years show entails.
The Warner Robins Marching Band is preparing for the "Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational" at McConnell-Talbert Stadium, and although WRHS won't be competing in the competition on Saturday, they will be performing as an exhibition band at the end of the night... right before awards.
Allison says marching band is much more challenging than concert band.
Todd Howell says it's the hard work that these students put in which makes the experience so enjoyable to the crowd.
The Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational will be held this Saturday, October 20th starting at 10 am in the McConnell-Talbert Stadium. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
