A “most improved energy hog” event will identify the most wasteful, inefficient use of energy by a base by nominated organization early in the month then a team from the energy office will select the unit showing the most improvement by Oct. 31.
An energy champion category will identify the most efficient use of energy and a most innovative and creative contest will identify the areas displaying the most originality.
“Energy action month is a time to take action in reducing energy use,” Art Howard from the base energy office is quoted in a Robins press release. “All of us need to take action as prudent stewards of our tax dollars and responsible adults. With your help and awareness, we can make conscious effort towards reducing our energy consumption.”
Howard said the contests are for “fun, bragging rights and increased awareness.”
