Allyson Gregory loves to dance to country music, she loves cake, and knows a lot about technology for a two-year-old. Allyson's life was pretty normal... until July when she was diagnosed with leukemia. Allyson was sick on and off since she was born... and after going to the doctor with strep throat and undergoing further tests, her family learned her illnesses were cancer-related.
Allyson is undergoing chemo therapy treatment at the Medical Center of Central Georgia's Children's Hospital. She receives treatment through the spine and through a port in her side. Allyson's mother says cancer has completely changed her lifestyle. She adds Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is important, because no one thinks it will happen to their family.
In honor of Allyson... the Gregory family is hosting a blood drive this Friday.
The blood drive will be held Friday, September 7th, from 2-7 PM at the Vienna First Baptist Church.
As a continuation of our Childhood Cancer Awareness Month series, next Monday I will introduce you to six year old Riley. Back to you.
