All four active duty components met accession goals with the Army at 101 percent.
Among the reserves, the Army National Guard was at 103 percent while the Marine Corps Reserve stood at 104 percent. Only the Army Reserve posted less than 100 percent, but officials said the component's 98 percent mark was intentional due to force balancing objectives.
Retention also was not an issue.
"The Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force all exhibited strong retention through the tenth month of fiscal 2012," the Pentagon report said, "and all reserve components are on target to achieve their fiscal year attrition goals."
