Every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday you will find remote control planes flying around an open field in Perry. These belong to the Perry RC Flyers, a club people who love to build, design, watch, and most of all fly these miniature air crafts. Many of them are replicas of planes from history, and others are creations of the imagination. Glenn Burns, a member of the Perry RC flyers club says it only takes a couple of weekends to master the controls.

And that they did. My controls were connected to an expert's through a "buddy cord", so if I ever got into any trouble while in flight, he could take over and get the plane back on track. Burns adds the worst that could happen in a crash is needing to repair the machine.

Noah Lambert is one of the youngest members, at 15 years old. He says the older members of the club have been very welcoming to him.

Glenn Burns adds, it's great to get kids like Noah out to fly as a fun and educational activity.

These dedicated flyers will come out here as early as four o'clock on a Wednesday, and stay until after dark to use the planes with the LED lights.

The flyers look forward to nightfall because they can light up the sky with their "UFO's". They say many spectators like to come out and watch the evening performance. The Perry RC flyers welcome any newcomers to check out the club and give RC flying a shot. For WRWR the Patriot. I'm Mayci McLeod.

The RC flyers meet every Wednesday evening, Saturday morning, and Sunday afternoon in Perry off of 41 in a field right next to the Perry Haunted Barn.

Thanks Maci for a great job on the video, and column. We in The Perry RC Flyers appreciate the exposure.

Model aviation is one of the cleanest hobbies and for some of us the beginning of a life long carreer in Aviation. Come back and fly with us any time. You are a lot better looking than most of the members. And we like to see the ladies fly.

Please let everyone know that our field is courtesy of the Perry Haunted Barn. A charitable event that takes place every year durinig the month of October.
