Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., will bring his message on sequestration to Warner Robins Aug. 21.

The 8:30 a.m. presentation is scheduled for Middle Georgia Technical College at 89 Cohen Walker Drive. The free event is open to the public.

The Budget Control Act of 2011 will withdraw or sequester $1.2 trillion from the federal budget over the next ten years beginning in January unless Congress repeals or amends the law. Some $500 billion of the total will come from the defense budget.

Defense officials have said the cuts would be devastating to both the defense budget and defense industry. The reductions would follow defense cuts of $487 billion already programmed by the Obama administration.

That's 80 Cohen Walker Drive, not 89.
