The Planning and Zoning meeting only lasted less than five minutes, and ended with a unanimous vote... but with much protest by the community members who attended. The issue on the docket was the rezoning of the area behind Harper's Ridge subdivision at Tucker Place. The board voted unanimously to rezone the area from R2 to R3, which residents are concerned will lead to development of lower income housing and a lower property value for their homes. Community members are also concerned about traffic because no additional entrances to the area are planned... and flooding issues as well. Barbara Campbell, who lives in Harper's Ridge, says she doesn't feel like the issue has been give fair consideration. The Board says the issue will be revisited at the next City Council Meeting, and Barbara Campbell assured me she will be there to voice her opinion.
