Air Force Reserve recruiters have reached their accession goal for the 12th straight year.

The announcement came from Air Force Reserve Command Headquarters at Robins Air Force Base.

This fiscal year's goal of 9,229 recruits was met on Sept. 12 -- 18 days ahead of the Sept. 20 fiscal year end,the AFRC press release noted.

"We're the finest recruiting service in the Department of Defense," Col. Steve Fulaytar, commander of reserve recruiting, is quoted in the press statement. "We prove it every year by meeting and exceeding (our) goal to ensure we provide the finest citizen airmen available for our nation's defense."

Over the last 12 years, reserve recruiters have enlisted more than 114,000 airmen in sustaining the Air Force Reserve's current 71,000 manpower. Some 400 men and women recruit worldwide to fill reserve positions.

Fulaytar said he was confident that the recruiting string will continue for a 13th year.

"One hundred percent," he said.
