Things have not started off well for new Demonettes softball Head Coach Phillip Vance. Warner Robins opened its season Tuesday with an 8-7 loss to Dublin.

Thursday it was Perry getting the best of the Demonettes 13-0 in four innings.

Savannah Ransom pitched a perfect game, facing 12 batters and striking out seven of them. The Lady Panthers in turn improved to 1-1. They scored three in the first and second, four in the third and three more in the fourth.

Sammy Gidney and Harley Padgett – a freshman – each went 3-3. Padgett, who plays catcher for Perry, drove in four runs. The team as a whole had 13 hits.

Said Vance of his team’s effort: “Very disappointing all around.”
