It was all about the offenses in the first half. It was all about the defenses in the second.

Such was the case between Warner Robins and Peach County. The Trojans scored all 29 of their points in the first half. The Demons, in falling on the road to Peach County, scored 21 of their 24 during the same time.

Not only was it about the offenses in the first half, it was all about the explosive offenses.

Case in point: DeAnthony Mack’s 67-yard run. With Matt Monday’s point after, that made it 14-7, Warner Robins, with just 10.3 seconds left in the first. That was answered by another Deanthony, in this case Deanthony Grant who took the ensuing kickoff and raced it 99 yards – leaving 1.7 seconds on the clock. The PAT tied it.

The Demons began the game with an 11-play, 86-yard drive, capped off by Tyler Cranford’s run from the 2.

A 69-yard pass from Greg Williams to Demarcus Robinson, and the PAT, quickly negated that.

Peach County put together a seven-play 76-yard drive midway through the second to take the lead and Warner Robins answered it with an 80-yard, 11-play drive.

That was finished off by D.D. Wright from the 3, which came with 2:02 before the half.

The Clemson committed Robinson struck again after that, taking a Williams pass, racing down the sidelines for 58 yards before being forced out at the 4.

Keyshawn Lowe took it into the endzone two plays later. The Trojans faked the point after and instead gave it to Robinson who was able to just get it inside the orange pylon for the two-point conversion.

The Demons took the opening possession of the second half at the 20 and drove it to the 8 before coming up short on a fourth-and-four. It was the second time they had tried and failed - the first time coming in the first half.

They were forced to do it again twice later, both coming on the same drive. In their case they really had no choice. The ballgame was on the line.

They converted each and that kept a drive that had started on the 14 with 3:51 left to play, going.

With 48.6 left to play, however, Warner Robins quarterback Caden Johnston was intercepted to end the chance at a win. Peach ran out the rest of the clock.

Warner Robins’ other score – the only score – came via Matt Monday’s field goal from 22 yards out. That was with 56 seconds left to play in the third.
