Northside Offensive Coordinator Chad Alligood said the Eagles just had to “keep on hitting and hope to wear them down”.

That was in reference to Flowery Branch and that was apparent the case as Northside put up 38 points in the second half en route to a 45-7 win.

The Eagles ended up with 356 yards rushing. Seventy-eight of them belonged to Keshun Hill. Forty of them accounted for Northside’s first score.

With Isaac Rivera’s point after that put the visitor up 7-0 and that was the lead after one. Flowery Branch, which had 33 yards rush – but offset that with 118 passing - tied it in the second.

Curtis Martin put the Eagles ahead for good with a four-yard run. Hill added to that a little later when he caught a 11-yard pass from Marcus Ivory and then Donte Bryant finished out the third quarter scoring with a 16-yard run. Rivera was perfect throughout.

Hill scored from 30 yards out in the fourth, Rivera hit a 27-yard field goal and Lee Bradley scored from the 9 to finish out the scoring. John Tignor hit that extra point.

Bryant finished with 72 yards rushing on seven carries, Glenn Smith 70 on 10 carries and Martin 57 on 12.

Even the best of prognosticators probably wouldn’t have gotten this one right. Westfield 3, Tattnall 2.

Landon Beamon’s 33-yard field goal turned out to be the difference, it coming in the third quarter.

The Trojans, who had 104 passing and 103 rushing yards, could only find the endzone once. And that was in dropping the Hornets for a safety in the first quarter.

Westfield had 88 yards rushing and 27 passing. It was led by Dustin Hall, who had 24 on eight carries and Drew McCrory, who had 23 on six.

Clay Humphries led Tattnall with 41 on 11 carries.
