Keshun Hill helped the Eagles get on the board first when he scored from the 1. That was on Northside's first possession of the ballgame. It won the toss, deferred to the second half and then forced Houston County to three-and-out and a punt - taking it on their own 46. Hill, probably would have scored on the first handoff from scrimmage but he was unable to tiptoe down the sidelines as he cleared the right side - and more importantly: the Bears' defenders. He did get it to the 38. Quarterback Glenn Smith found Charlton Lane with a pass on the left side on the next play and he in turn took it to the 1. Hill scored and Isaac Rivera, as he did all night, made the point after.
He also made it 10-0 on Northside's next possession with a 22-yard fieldgoal. (He also had one from 27 yards out later.) After punting for the third time, Houston County finally forced the Eagles to punt. However, after a one-yard run, Taylor Boyett's pass was picked off by Trey Payne. He caught it on the Bears' 25 and ran it to the 4. Smith scored on the next play. A personal foul pushed the extra point back 15 yards but it mattered little to Rivera.
Curtis Martin later scored for Northside to put it up 24-0 heading into the half.
