After a scoreless first, John Stauffer got the Warriors on board first with a 34-yard fieldgoal.
Shortly after that Tanner Westbrook put the Hornets out front, capping off a drive with a four-yard run. Landon Beamon, who hit the game-winner against Tattnall the week before, added the point after.
That came with four minutes left before the half.
Taylor Patterson broken loose for a 90-yard touchdown run off the right side about a minute after that to give Brookwood the lead – following Stauffer’s point after. Less than 30 seconds after that, Stuart Smith got loose on the left side, broke several tackles and fought his way for a 65-yard score. Beamon made it 14-10.
Westfield couldn’t solve Patterson in the first and Brookwood couldn’t solve Smith. Both rushed for more than 100 yards.
Then came the second half. The Hornets won the opening toss but deferred. They then marched 80 yards up the field and it was all them for the rest of the night. Tanner Westbrook, with Beamon’s point after, made it 21-10 with a 12-yard touchdown run.
Westfield went on to score four more times for a 49-13 win.
