Two advanced, two saw their seasons come to an end.

Houston County and Veterans were the two to advance, earning a Sweet 16 berth in the GHSA state volleyball championship.

The Lady Eagles and Demonettes were the two to fall. Northside’s girls, the No. 3 seed out of Area 2, came up just short to Northside-Columbus. The girls lost three games to one. Warner Robins, the No. 4 seed out of Area 2, was narrowly edged by Harris County three games to two. The Demonettes lost the first game 25-23 but then won the next two, 25-22, 25-11. Unfortunately they dropped game No. 4 25-22 and then lost the fifth 15-10.

As far as Houston County, it beat Union Grove three games to one – that at the Class AAAAA level. The Lady Bears won the first two by scores of 25-22, 25-12, respectively, before dropping the third 25-10. They then won the fourth, 25-23.

They will play the winner between Lakeside-Dekalb – No. 1 seed out of Area 6 – and Lithia Spring – No. 4 seed out of Area 5.

Veterans, at AAAA, won its contest with Richmond Academy three games to none. The scores for those were: 25-7, 25-14 and 25-23. The Lady Warhawks, Area 1-AAAA champs and No. 1 seed, will host Chamblee – winner over Richmond Academy – Tuesday at 6 p.m. for round two.
