The Georgia National Guard will transfer ownership of its armory in Montezuma to city officials on Tuesday.

The building became vacant when Bravo Company, 648th Engineers were reassigned to Augusta.

The building will become home for The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County, according to a press release issued by the Georgia Department of Defense.

The turnover ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. A number of congressional, state and local officials are expected to attend.
