Fire Prevention Week
Fire Prevention Week
This week is Fire Prevention Week. I spoke with Lieutenant Danny Williams from the Warner Robins Fire Department to learn about why this week is important.

Lieutenant Williams says many house fires can be prevented.

To learn more about Fire Prevention or how to protect your family in case of a fire, you can attend the Warner Robins Fire Department Demonstration, this Saturday October 13th from 10 am to 3 pm. The event will be held in the K-Mart Parking Lot on Watson Blvd. and is free and open to the public. Firefighters will be on site with activities such as: demonstrating how victims are cut from cars in an accident, giving tours of the Fire Safety House, and providing Fire Extinguisher Training. Lt. Williams says everyone can learn something from the event.

He adds another way to keep your family safe is to make sure your smoke detectors are working properly. The Warner Robins Fire Department recommends testing them monthly, changing the batteries every six months, and changing the entire smoke detector every 10 years.
