After Jan. 1, reservists enrolled in TRICARE Reserve Select or TRICARE Retired Reserve may no longer pay premiums by check.

After that date, TRICARE -- the military's health care network -- will only accept payment by automatic credit or debit cards or by electronic fund tranfer.

A TRICARE release said beneficiaries were being notified by email of the change.

"Electronic payments streamline account management and ensure continuous coverage," the press release noted. "Failure to pay premiums by the due date results in termination of coverage."

Additional information is available at www.TRICARE.mil/contacts.

TRICARE Reserve Select serves the selected reserve including Air Force Reserve Command unit reservists, individual mobilization augmentees and their families. TRICARE Retired Reserve is for retired reservists, their families and for survivors of retired reservists.
