Entries will be closing on Wednesday, Aug. 15 for the 24th annual Georgia Public Links Championship, which takes place Sept. 8-9 at Cobblestone Golf Course in Acworth. This event is open to male amateur golfers who are members of a GSGA Member Club that is open to public play. Entrants must not have held privileges since Jan. 1 at any club that does not permit public play.

The field will consist of 144 players; 72 players with the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes and 63 minimum drawn by lottery. Three exemptions are given to the host club and flight winners from the previous year. The format is 36 holes of flighted stroke play.

Last year, Billy Mitchell of Roswell fired a 5-under-par 67 in the final round of the Georgia Public Links Championship at Towne Lake Hills Golf Club in Woodstock to defend his title and became the fifth player in event history to win multiple times. Mitchell, who finished the tournament at 8-under-par 136 (69-67), also became the third player to win back-to-back titles. Matt Russell of Dunwoody finished with runner-up honors at 5-under-par 139 (69-70).

Eligible players must enter through the GSGA website at www.gsga.org by clicking the Online Registration link.
