They live along Corder Road, and most gave up property to widen the busy street. Today they were honored by city and county officials at a 9 am ribbon cutting just outside of Shirley Hill Baptist Church. The ceremony marks the official end of the decade old project, included the addition of turn lanes, gutters, and sidewalks from Russell Parkway to Watson Boulevard. The two mile effort involved over 76 seperate properties, cost the tax payer some $3.7 million dollars, and was completed five months ahead of time and under budget.
