It all began last summer when the roof collapsed at Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church, located on Mercer Drive in Macon. Since then, Pastor Sam Johnson has been in a tug of war with his insurance company, whom neglected to pay his claim to help rebuild the church. A lawsuit is currently pending, filed against the insurance company. According to Johnson, his request for assistance from city and government officials has fallen on deaf ears. He has been hit with a citation to either use his own funds to clean up the land or face jail time. His congregation continues to hold service in a smaller building located next to the church. Pastor Johnson continues to keep a positive outlook despite lack of support.
