Houston County High will be looking to snap a two-game slide and earn its first Region 2-AAAAA win Friday when its hosts Lakeside-Evans for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Bears and Knights are both 2-3 overall but Lakeside-Evans holds the edge in the standings at 1-1. (Note: Only two teams, Northside and Warner Robins are undefeated at 2-0. Four are 1-1 and two are 0-2 so a win for Houston County puts it right back into contention.

“(They’re a) good football team I think,” Bears Head Coach Greg Robinson said. “They played Grovetown real tough. They won that right at the end, they had to throw a 90-yard touchdown pass.

“I think if we show up, if we show up ready to play football it ought to be a good football game.

“(They’re) pretty similar teams … It’s just whoever wants it the most.”
