According to campaign manager Fenika Miller, Howard is bleeding from her brain and has limited mobility in her right side. Howard did not want to make an early exit from the race, but deemed it necessary to drop out "due to the severity and limited capacity she has at the time"
A press release described Howard as 'both grateful and humbled' by the support she has received during the campaign.' She looks forward to continuing to serve the people of her community and being a tireless advocate for Georgia families.
The special election for the House District 136 seat will be held on Tuesday, February 15. The seat has been vacant since the untimely death of Rep. Tony Sellier late last year.
Two Republicans remain in the race- Sellier's widow, Judye Sellier and local businessman Robert Dickey.

(Editor's Note: There will be no GOP runoff in any event. The probability is overwhelming that one of the two contenders will pull more votes than the other.)
